Description

EDIT 2: Take that, Maldrynn, you are now officially part of this drawing where you belong (noooo don't look at his legs I fail at cross-legged poses they're hideeeeoooouuuus)! ...Oops, I forgot Sage's bowstring... *shrug* I'll just make sure to put it in in the third and final version of this 13/14-character group drawing.

All I have left now is to draw Queen Lynora, Arianna, and my favorite smug, gleefully androgynous asshole, Pykke. He's/she's been redesigned from the original drawing too and now really does look like a confusing mix of not-quite-masculine-yet young man and girl-dressing-up-as-a-man. XD ...Any suggestions for his/her hair color? It was originally silver, but I think I want to change it... ....Oh, btw, Pykke is a total coin-and-shiny-disk-in-general collecting magpie and I think I'm gonna just do a poll and let ya'll decide what his/her real gender is for me because I've had him/her as a character for probably a year now and STILL can't decide.

EDIT: Some color added... BTW, yep, Arliss, Sage and Tal are the only ones with normal hair colors, really.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh I haaaaaate cross-legged poses! Originally there was someone between the farmer and the archer, but he refuses to come out right... >.<;;;

Anyway, the newcomers are, from left to right, Arliss, Sage, and Tal. Each and every single one of these elves has something weird about them, have you noticed that yet? This time, I guess I'll expose a bit about their physical traits, starting with who's drawn here from left to right again. I won't go into anything about the hair/eye colors of them unless it has some significance. For those without notable physical weirdness, I'll just put something about their personality.

Skypia: Albino coloring (but not actually very sun-sensitive). She's very no-nonsense when things need doing and tends to treat the younger Founders as if they were her younger siblings. Also extremely stubborn.

Leone: brittle-boned, eyes have a glowing inner ring. He's a very calm person temperament-wise, but he sometimes feels bitter about his body's inherent fragility. Hates it when people take hits for him/ protect him during battle (especially Skypia, who is the most guilty of doing so anyway) and is actually quite good at using his staff in physical combat. He wears long, shapeless robes because A, they're comfortable and he likes them, and B, in a fight, the loose cloth disguises where his actual body is and makes it harder for enemies to get a solid hit.

Casta (the upside-down one): Very cheerful and outgoing, and also compleeeeetely tone-deaf. Dresses (and somewhat acts) much like a boy and an avid student of the martial arts. Sometimes she and Pandryn swap clothes and act exactly like each other just because they can.

Pandryn (the right-side-up one): shy as all heck and the girly twin. Enjoys traditional dances and the casting of enchantments through motion rather than incantations, sigils or talismans. Sometimes she and Casta swap clothes and act exactly like each other just because they can.

Cyrintha: Highly claustrophobic and prone to stutter badly when nervous or uncomfortable. A very gentle girl who hates it when people are cruel to others, especially her kind of course.

Arelv: Has a whole laundry list caused by mutation, the majority of his childhood having been spent locked in an isolated, near-lightless place (cellar? cell? cave? basement?), or a combination of the two. His green hair is actually mutated from blonde, as are his color-changing eyes ("Arelv's" are blue-green and luminous), his skin is as pale as that of a creature adapted to live underground (and extreeeemely sun-sensitive, hence the coat), he's unnaturally scrawny and small in general and his growth is entirely stunted (he's A LOT older than he looks, even by elven standards), and his hearing is naturally hypersensitive, which was only made worse by the years (decades, at least) spent in captivity. When he first entered the outside world, the sensory over-stimulation (mainly the blast of new sounds hitting his ears) caused him such a shock that his psyche split into two personalities... As such, time to talk about them a bit individually... But first: Arelv doesn't communicate with any known language. He uses a combination of sign language of his own design and humming. Also, the markings on his face are written/drawn versions of the signs he uses, which means he's transcribed his 'identity' onto his skin, so to speak. Calico and Calypso, on the other hand, do talk. They/he will always be most comfortable using his 'native tongue', though.

Calico (droopy-ears): A bit of a grump/tsundere. Hates loud noises; was born from the side of Arelv that wanted to run away from the sounds that were causing him pain (however, his only escape route had been his prison, so...). His eyes are bright green and, unlike his full self and other-personality, only glow when he's experiencing strong emotions. His speech is slow and clumsy and he often 'sky-writes' with electricity instead, using a very neat, academic handwriting unless putting emphasis on words (or angry), which makes his words have a lightning-bolt-shaped strike-through.

Calypso (grinning lightning-ghost): HATES HATES HAAAATES silence. Absolutely hates it. Was originally docile and cheerful, but snapped after there was an attempt to eliminate the "calico" personality he 'shares a body with'. He slaughtered the perpetrators and had a panic attack, and can be extremely vicious if he feels threatened. Has always and will always be childish. His speech is just as clumsy as Calico's, but instead of being slow, is just a little bit too fast. His sky-writing is all curlicues unless he's putting emphasis/being violent, during which it's jagged caps-locked murder-speak. Calypso's eyes are aqua-blue and glow brightly. His real smile is rarely seen and is actually a gentle one, not the frightening Cheshire grin he usually adopts.

Arliss: HE IS FREAKIN' HUGE AND STRONG. Also badly dyslexic and has a tendency to forget to duck and smack his head on doorframes. In spite of his looks he actually has no accent whatsoever, mainly due to the fact that he was born to a well-off family to begin with and became a farmer by choice later on. Arliss prefers a shovel over a sword any day, EVEN IN BATTLE, and alternates between using the huge thing as a scoop (if there are large rocks around) to throw boulders with, a bludgeon, and a longstaff. Doesn't like wearing shoes.

Sage: Doesn't like to talk/socialize/be near people very much and has a bad habit of accidentally speaking in the tongue of whatever creature he was talking to most recently instead of the human-elvish language (which is why he hates talking to people). Completely and utterly unable to swim.

Tal: Despite his small size, he is an adult. He's just small, though he doesn't have dwarfism. Hates staying in one place for too long and badly afflicted with wanderlust; his Talent allows him to meet up with his companions whenever he wants, though.

Now for those who aren't in the pic yet.

Maldrynn: Was supposed to be here, but his pose is being annoying. He's blind, and freaked out Arelv when they first met with his sheer cheerfulness when stating that fact. Keeps his ears pinned up with simple metal or wooden rings because otherwise they tend to stick out at different angles and the resultant difference between his left and right ear's hearing throws off his balance. Apparently the only one to know Pykke's actual gender except Pykke him/her/itself.

Queen Lynora- haven't developed her much yet, sorry.

Arianna: Close friends with Tal. Never seems to age. She's really mysterious and enjoys being that way. Refuses to go anywhere without carrying water with her and apparently dehydrates easily.

Pykke: Frustratingly androgynous and, even worse, he's/she's utterly smug about it. likes to collect small trinkets, especially unique/interesting coins.

....Shutting up now...

These folks are mine. No stealing.

The positions feel a bit stiff for some of the characters. It feels very odd to not see shading on a picture when there is an obvious light source. Why do the characters have mitten hands instead of figures. The hair also feels a bit stiff for some of the characters;I mean that since wind is blowing from what I can tell with the person's scarf. And lastly the characters seem to have an androgynous feel it's hard to tell until I read the description, but anyway it's overall alright. Take this with a grain of salt cause I'm not that great with art.
